Spark is a science-driven nonprofit focused on identifying sources of unmanaged climate risk and accelerating research to support scientific understanding and potential solutions. I\'m focused on building the field of atmospheric methane removal, supporting early stage research into methane sinks and potential approaches through grant making, roadmapping, fostering community, and strategic partnership across academia, NGOs, and government. As a project manager, I organized the first methane removal workshop in April 2023 and helped scope and implement our 2024 Exploratory Granting program, which provided funding to 12 projects exploring methane sinks, potential atmospheric methane removal approaches, and measurement and screening tools. Coming from an airborne observations background, I\'m particularly interested in the challenges associated with measuring the complex and often nonlinear interactions involved in methane oxidation in the atmosphere.
