About Paddy Houlihan
I’m a producer, writer, and brand consultant who tells stories that punch above their weight; sometimes literally. My career bridges indie film, branded content, podcasting, sports media, and comedy. At the center of it all is one goal: make meaningful stuff that makes people feel something (ideally while laughing).I got my start in comedy, developing my chops as a writer, actor, producer, and director with The Second City, The Onion, and National Lampoon, after making my feature film directorial debut with Tapioca, a scrappy indie starring Broadway legend Ben Vereen and a rogue’s gallery of Chicago comedy icons. I’ve teamed up with sketch groups like FND Films to create viral content that amassed millions of views on YouTube long before the \"creator economy\" had a name. Over the years, I’ve worked on both Hollywood and indie film sets in nearly every role, from PA to AD to Director and even spent some time as a stand-in and body double for a well-known film actor (fun story).Today, I serve as Chief Creative Officer and President of Hibernian Media, a nonprofit dedicated to Irish and Irish-American storytelling across film, TV, radio, and live events. We’ve produced podcast episodes, launched branded partnerships with Tullamore Dew and Hilton Hotels, and programmed 10 years of the Irish American Movie Hooley film festival.Recent highlights include producing Is This Seat Taken? with the Chicago Cubs and Marquee Sports Network; creating a television special for The Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame and NBC Sports Chicago; consulting for middleweight boxer Nico Ali Walsh; and co-hosting my long-running comedy podcast The Houli’s Hooley Radio Hour with my twin brother, Billy.Let’s connect if you’re: A brand looking to reach loyal niche audiences through comedy or Irish culture A network, agency, or studio looking for a seasoned (and fun) Freelance Producer A fellow creative looking to build something big—or weird—or bothI’m always open to collaborating, consulting, or just trading ideas over a pint.
