ABOUT PADDY KIRKMAN
A highly motivated chartered mechanical engineer with a BEng Honours Degree and 31 years of proven experience in the automotive industry. Experience includes project management, change management, motivational, problem solving, strategical and organisational skills with a developed understanding of whole vehicle engineering to continuously deliver vehicle performance goals for complexed passive, active safety and driver assistance (ADAS) systems and features.Over recent years my key achievements have been Land Rover Discovery Sport being awarded Best in Class by Euro NCAP in 2014 which also received the WHATCAR? Safety Award 2015 as a result of its Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) performance and being the first vehicle to have AEB as a standard feature. Since then, the Jaguar XE, XF, E-Pace, F-Pace and the Velar have all been awarded 5 stars in the Euro NCAP safety assessment and the New Discovery achieved a maximum of 6 points in Pedestrian AEB Euro NCAP tests. Jaguars new electric car, the I-Pace has now also been awarded 5 stars further extending its AEB capability to work for cyclists and pedestrians at night.
