I have 25 years of continuous manufacturing process experience working for The Dow Chemical Company. I have covered technical and leadership roles in Maintenance and Production. As Facility and Global Reliability Engineer, I have led more than one hundred (RCA) Investigations, equipment reliability strategies and troubleshooting, improving yearly reliability performance by 5%. I am certified Six Sigma Black Belt, leading several improvement projects (following DMAIC methodology) for production process, organization management system and equipment, unlocking more than $6M value. Covering Leadership positions for more than ten years, I have developed strong competencies to lead teams of +60 people, such as individual goals alignment to ensure a solid “push” towards Production, Safety and Cost company objectives. As Production Director, I have developed strong skills to drive team members to effectively achieve Safety, Production and Cost objectives. Led efforts to enhance management systems to ensure Lagging and Leading KPI were tracked and improved. Gained people “trust” based on clear and honest leadership behaviors. As leader, I have used my technical background to support my team addressing daily priorities, balancing my micro and macro management responsibilities. Liked to use the pyramid concept to set team priorities and objectives. Physically very active, spending enough time in the field watching behaviors, catching near misses, talking to people and ensuring full compliance of Safety and Process standards. Strong experience working in a multicultural environment. Have had more than 30 assignments abroad, to support Turnarounds, attend training, strategic meetings and project implementation plans. Main overseas assignment were five months in Plaquemine (LA) as Reliability Engineer, five months in Tarragona (Spain) and five months in Rayon (Thailand); both as C & SU Leader. I achieved all given goals, and I was recognized as a key team member, not only for my technical contribution but also for the interpersonal relationship I built in each assignment.In my current role, MRO Global Improvement Leader, I have developed competencies in the area of Purchasing, inventory work process, Business rules and Finance Legal compliance to ensure SOX requirements. I am leading multi-functional global teams to improve performance in Inventory optimization and compliance strategic elements.On the personal side, I am happily married to Claudia. I am a very happy father watching my daughter Esmeralda grow up every day. She is 8 years old.
