Pamela Beltran is a graduate student in the traditional Master in Professional Accounting program at the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business. In the beginning stages of her professional career, Beltran has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to learning and growing in the field of accounting, particularly in tax-related areas.In the spring of 2022, Beltran worked as a remote, non-profit consulting extern at PwC. With an interest in the consulting industry, she took on this opportunity to explore the day-to-day responsibilities of the role. During her time as an extern, she engaged in extensive research and analysis, specifically for 826 Valencia, with a focus on the non-profit finance sector. Beltran used this experience to enhance her communication skills and prepare a compelling presentation with proposed solutions for non-profit fundraising efforts. From June to October of 2022, Beltran served as an intern at Sol Schwartz & Associates within the tax department in San Antonio, Texas. Over the course of her internship, she was exposed to different types of taxes, which sparked a curiosity in her. Beltran’s ability to review client details and financial statements played a pivotal role in compiling reports in Excel. Beltran’s ability to speak Spanish presented her with the opportunity to work with the international tax team on a streamlined project for Mexico-based clients. While working on this project, Beltran learned how to work under pressure, properly manage her time, and collaborate with the international tax team, legal experts, and clients. Beltran is passionate about advocating for women in the workforce. Between the years of 2020 and 2023, she was a member of the Women in Business Association at the University of Texas at El Paso. Her commitment to making a positive impact is evident through her role as the treasurer, where she raised and managed over through fundraising events and collaborations with local businesses. In recognition of her academic excellence and commitment to her studies, Beltran has received numerous honors, including Magna Cum Laude and membership in Beta Gamma Sigma.
