Working on a New Product Development (NPD) of an all new automotive product targeting booming commercial EV market of India. Lead design engineer- Chassis and subsystems designDesigned a ground up chassis system (Ladder frame) to tackle Light Commercial Vehicle segment of India, using BIS (ISMC) regulated standards for longitudinal and cross members.Designed a trailing arm rear suspension system to work with the designed ladder frame chassis, Designed a off-set trailing linkage type dual sided front fork suspension. Set up the tentative front fork suspension geometry for front wheel trail and caster.2. Battery-Pack design and packaging :Sourced various battery cells and types that can be utilized for the required range, power and area constraints. Sourced different available cell sizes and vendors with their accurate dimensions to use for the tentative design of the battery packs.Designed a CAD model of the tentative battery packs with 3 different cell sizes (Ah capacity). total of 19 different battery pack designs created.3. Prototype (Proof of Concept) design & Virtual Testing (CAE) Designed an initial test-bed chassis simplified to test the required load bearing capacity and motor performances. Testing of chassis for normal loading and overloading conditions in Ansys structural analysis.
