ABOUT OZZY SANCHEZ ALDANA
Hello! My name is Ozzy Sanchez-Aldana, and I have a bachelor\'s in science for Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine. I have an insatiable passion for mechanical system design and manufacturing. My career is strongly rooted in the aerospace industry, and I work on robotics projects in my spare time. Pleased to meet you!Since July 2025, I have been working at Shur-Lok, Co, a PCC Company, as a Design Engineer. I provide models and blueprints for the production of specialty fasteners used by customers such as General Electric, Pratt & Whitney, and Lockheed Martin. I closely collaborate with manufacturing and quality engineers to interpret and conduct qualification testing for products. Additionally, I work with senior engineers in the design, prototyping, and presentation of new products!On my personal time, I continue my passion for robotics that I developed during my time at UC Irvine. Since 2022, I have been working on autonomous aerial systems through the collegiate project team, UAV Forge. I started as a CAD engineer where I exponentially improved my utility with Solidworks. In June 2024, I became the Chief of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering where lead 35 engineers in a holistic system engineering design approach for our 2024-25 aircraft model.My research experience includes passive landing gear systems for VTOLs under Julian Rimoli, PhD. I designed a large-scale, cable-driven landing gear prototype that is inspired by prior research conducted both at UC Irvine and Georgia Tech.My interests are vast, my skills are ever-expanding, and my drive is in high gear.
