About Ozioma Nwachukwu
I am an Environmental Engineer and recent Ph.D. graduate from the University of Notre Dame, dedicated to advancing water quality, environmental remediation, and sustainability solutions. My research focused on the detection and removal of emerging contaminants, particularly micro- and nanoplastics, from complex environmental systems. Through this work, I developed innovative site remediation strategies, water treatment methods, and advanced analytical techniques. This experience has strengthened my expertise in environmental field investigations, data analysis and interpretation, and technical reporting, while contributing to global efforts toward SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.Beyond research, I’ve led and mentored teams of undergraduate students and collaborated on sustainability initiatives that bridge science, policy, and community engagement. I bring a strong foundation in environmental engineering, hands-on lab experience, and a systems-thinking approach to addressing contamination in water, soil, and sediments.I’m actively exploring opportunities in research, consulting, and environmental strategy—particularly roles that combine scientific rigor with global impact.
