Having been a member for some years, in I was appointed Coordinator of this UK professional network of Japanese-English and English-Japanese translators and interpreters. In addition to helping members share work, discuss terminology/technology queries & business best practice, engage in continuing professional development, and enjoy social events, I pushed the network forward, increasing membership significantly during that 3-year tenure. I also acted as the network\'s first website developer, carried out an informative rates survey, and acted as judge for the translation competition. Throughout my membership I\'ve continued to write numerous articles in the network Bulletin, and give lectures at seminars both onsite and online, as well as presentations at several of the affiliated International Japanese/English Translation (IJET) conferences.
