Owen is a Partner in PwC’s Financial Services practice with over 24 years of experience. Owen provides audit and advisory services to financial services clients, with a focus on insurance companies. Owen works primarily with Canadian public companies, life insurers, property and casualty insurers, and other regulated financial institutions including banks, asset management companies and funds.Over the last 7 years, Owen led the IFRS 17 insurance contracts accounting standard transition across Canada, working with the national practice and with clients to understand and navigate the new requirements.Owen is the Chair of OSFI’s Insurance Auditor Advisory Committee, a member of the Canadian Accounting Standards Board Transition Resource Group for Insurance, and other industry and PwC global working groups for insurance. He is a regular presenter on financial and regulatory developments at industry conferences and training events.Originally from the UK, Owen has previously worked with insurers in the London market, including Lloyd’s and Solvency II reporting.
