ABOUT OWEN SMITH
Details and data are my passion! In my roles in higher education, sports officiating, and government, I get down to the nitty-gritty. I quickly learn and examine rules, allowing me to enforce them, understand why they exist, and explore how we can change their text or enforcement to optimize behavior and get results.My economics background allows me to understand people\'s motives. People try to optimize their outcomes given limited time and resources. As a result, I am very interested in connecting people with data. I want to understand what a team\'s goals are, how they use data, and ask: how can we use data to meet and predict the needs of your audience and make your job easier? The answers are often complex, but sometimes not! Understanding how small integrations or changes to services/decision-making can make big changes is exciting.Currently, I am developing skills in SQL to contribute to organizations of both large and small data analytics needs. I hope to continue working directly with customers and clients to brainstorm their data needs and provide them comprehensive and reliable data for their operations. This training, combined with my strong background in economics, statistics, customer service, and sports/recreation, allows me to be a versatile member of any team. I look forward to bringing my passion to your next project.
