ABOUT OWEN MATTOX
I am a personal injury lawyer who represents individuals who are harmed by another person or corporation’s wrongful actions. I primarily handle matters involving medical malpractice and premises liability. Before joining Alexander Shunnarah Trial Attorneys, I represented doctors, hospitals, nursing homes, automotive manufacturers, business owners, and insurance companies in lawsuits involving allegations ranging from medical malpractice and products liability to premises liability and general negligence. I obtained my law degree from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, graduating in the top 15% of my class. While I was a student, I was heavily involved in one of Cumberland’s two scholarly law journals—the American Journal of Trial Advocacy—and Cumberland’s nationally-recognized trial advocacy program, where I was taught by some of Alabama’s best trial lawyers how to effectively present cases to a jury. I now serve as an assistant coach on Cumberland’s National Trial Team coaching staff, where I have the privilege of teaching students about effective trial advocacy.
