ABOUT OWEN CALLAHAN
I have worked in geothermal energy research and development for over 15 years, contributing to flagship enhanced geothermal system (EGS) projects at the world’s largest geothermal field in The Geysers, California, superhot rock (SHR) projects at Newberry Volcano, Oregon, and additional locations across the Great Basin and Cascades. My academic work examined interactions between hydrothermal fluids and rock properties, from deeply buried Precambrian basement rocks to modern hot spring deposits. I hold advanced degrees from The University of Texas at Austin, Western Washington University, and Hampshire College. I am also a certified drone pilot and thermographer, with an interest in using sUAS for monitoring hot springs systems.
