As the head of the DHL Express Miami Gateway, I lead a supervisory team who oversees, coach, and motivates a team of 43 customs clearance agents. The MIA GTWY focuses on the customs processing of approximately 3.1 million shipments per year (post Covid volume). As an express consignment operator our team processes import entries under section 321 (E-Commerce), formal entries (including FDA, USDA, and other partner government agencies), billing, post entry and clerical exports. Also, our team oversees customs clearance key performance metrics, standard operating procedures as well as compliance with US laws and regulations. I report directly to the VP US Gateways, DHL Express USA and have direct responsibility for an operational budget of over $10.5MM USD per year.Achievements: Led organizational transformation that resulted in best-in-class performance year over year and highest levels of employee engagement. MIA GTWY brand is recognized by both internal and external customers as best in class and always ready to make our customers successful. Managed GTWY team through historical growth rate during the 2020 COVID pandemic from 17 to 42 import agents and from 1.3 million shipments per year in 2019 to over 4.1 million shipments per year in 2021.
