As Sanofi Head of R&D Data Strategy and Operations, I lead transformative initiatives to modernize medicinal chemistry systems, implement global data registration platforms, and enable AI-ready data solutions. My work includes overseeing the development of a $4M project to revolutionize data integration for all compound modalities, ensuring seamless migration of millions of entities into modern advanced formats. With over two decades of experience in computational chemistry and research informatics, I specialize in data science, scientific data management, and semantic modeling within drug discovery, as well as cheminformatics and molecular modeling, with emphasis in structure-based drug design. My mission is to leverage cutting-edge technologies to optimize data governance, streamline processes, and unlock innovative solutions in pharmaceutical R&D.

1. Head of R & d Data Strategy and Operations

   Sep 2023 — Present

   Led a $4M project to: a) Replace obsolete Medicinal Chemistry ELN with a modern, user-friendly solution for over chemists, working with small molecules, peptides, and ADCs. b) Create a global entity registration system for all Sanofi modalities (small molecules, peptides, antibodies/nanobodies, ADC, oligonucleotides, bioconjugates, DNA, RNA, AAV, etc.) c) Implement a semantically enabled AI-ready hierarchical data product platform to deliver compound and biological data to analytical applications and AI model development frameworks. d) Migrate 5M+ entities to the new registration system with transformation into modern entity representation formats (enhanced stereo, HELM)• Led project to develop a conceptual common data model for all R&D data based on a modular hierarchical approach using a foundational ontology (BFO) with semantic modeling and including domain specific ontologies• Responsible for Sanofi’s ontology management system operations and for developing governance rules for internalization, creation, and use of ontologies in R&D systems• Responsible for internalization and harmonization of external data from CRO’s, collaborations, M&A, and public sources• Streamlined operations to enhance R&D efficiency within the organization
