Lead statewide efforts to expand opportunity for Louisianans, strengthen employers’ access to talent, and prepare the state’s workforce for the jobs of today and tomorrow.Oversee the Office of Workforce Development, managing a $150M+ budget and directing key divisions including Labor Market Information/Research & Statistics, WIOA Programs, Registered Apprenticeship, Louisiana Rehabilitation Services, and the Incumbent Worker Training Program.Advance the state’s “One Door” model by integrating workforce and social services (SNAP, TANF, Medicaid) to streamline access, reduce barriers, and promote long-term economic mobility for individuals and families.Leverage labor market data and performance analytics to guide strategy, inform investment decisions, and measure progress toward statewide labor force participation goals.Drive cross-agency collaboration with higher education, K–12, and economic development partners—including the Board of Regents, Louisiana Community and Technical College System, Louisiana Economic Development, and the Department of Education—to align education and training with real employer demand.Serve as a key partner in implementing landmark workforce legislation (Act 330 and Act 478), ensuring Louisiana’s workforce and social service systems are integrated, data-informed, and positioned for long-term success.
