With over 30 years of executive experience in safety, compliance, and operational leadership—across commercial construction, oil and gas (upstream, midstream, downstream), residential, and industrial sectors—I’ve learned that true safety leadership goes far beyond policies and procedures.My time in the U.S. Marine Corps instilled in me a deep respect for situational awareness—not just in high-risk environments, but in everyday operations. I was trained to observe, assess, and anticipate before acting. That mindset didn’t stay behind when I left the service—it’s embedded in how I lead, how I train, and how I protect the people around me.I’ve learned to read more than just the task at hand. I pay attention to how people move, how they communicate (or don’t), and how they perceive risk. Sometimes, what’s most dangerous isn’t the equipment—it’s the assumption that “everything’s fine.” I’ve seen firsthand how a lack of awareness can lead to injury, loss, or worse.That’s why I speak up when I see gaps. I ask questions others might avoid. I hold the line on protocols that some might overlook. It’s not about being harsh—it’s about being responsible. My goal is to build a culture where safety isn’t just a checklist—it’s a shared mindset.
