Research and data handling: I produce evidence-based reports to support policy initiatives and shape stakeholder communication. This includes detailed reviews of public interest issues within commercial aviation, such as evaluating airlines\' approaches to government taxes in their headline fares, impact assessments of specific legislation on consumers, and collecting data from the Heathrow disruptions to assess the extent of passenger impact. The data was presented to management and prepared for presentation to a select committee.Managing the department’s high-volume inbox: Complaints and consumer correspondence are summarised and logged to ensure accurate records and consistent case management. This involves close collaboration within a small team and engagement with partner organisations to advise on consumer rights under aviation regulations. Direct communication with airlines supports resolution efforts and promotes compliance. Fostering these partnerships is key to building effective working relationships and enhancing regulatory outcomes.Cross-team collaboration: Regularly collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex casework and policy challenges. This involves tailoring my communication style to suit internal colleagues and external stakeholders, ensuring complex regulations or topics are translated into clear, accessible information. I’ve also undertaken targeted training on report writing and communication to improve the effectiveness of my writing.
