ABOUT DANIEL ORTIZ
I’m an ecologist with over a decade of experience advancing high-integrity nature-based solutions (NBS) that address the dual climate and biodiversity crises. My work spans the full project lifecycle, including strategy, origination, certification, investment readiness, and portfolio oversight. I’ve worked across ARR, blue carbon, regenerative agriculture, and REDD+, with hands-on experience in carbon project development, markets, and standards. This includes managing global portfolios of 40+ NBS projects (over 60 MtCO₂e), guiding projects through Verra and ISO certifications, and supporting innovative financing approaches to bring early-stage projects to life. I bring strategic leadership grounded in systems thinking—shaping structures, teams, and tools that unlock real-world results. I lead cross-functional teams, build capacity, and streamline systems to scale impact without compromising integrity. My mission is to accelerate the development of NBS that deliver lasting climate, biodiversity, and social impact through leadership rooted in clarity, integrity, and scale.
