Assess patient and family spiritual needs to assist families to utilize spiritual and community resources to manage illness, trauma, and/or stress. • Provide crisis intervention as necessary; responds to all Code Blue and Trauma Alerts; assists in helping families remain informed of patient’s condition.• Completes decedent care protocol; assists family to use their faith system in coping with death; provides support to the family as appropriate when they view body; assists staff in completing all necessary paperwork i.e. organ donation, funeral home release, etc. Supports staff in dealing with their emotion in loss of a patient.• Organize and facilitate the celebration of the sacraments of patients and families within the ecumenical/interfaith community.• Provide crisis intervention/staff support; convene and facilitate staff debriefing after a major traumatic event.
