ABOUT ORLA MCANDREW
A third year English and Related Literature student at the University of York, passionate about journalism and content creation. I am editor in chief of York\'s oldest student newspaper Nouse, this has helped me develop my skills as a team leader, encouraging new writers to join our team and guiding everyone through print editions is a joy. I love how involved Nouse allows me to be in university life and I strive to keep our readers up to date with everything they need to know. I recently took part in the Bloomberg Diversity programme which gave me an incredible insight into Bloomberg News and allowed me to work with and learn from so many of their journalists. Learning how to write the Bloomberg way was a rewarding challenge. Before University I co-founded Empoword Journalism, this was my first introduction to journalism and it was a whirlwind of learning how to edit pieces, what works well on social media and how to keep a platform running. I am so proud of Empoword\'s continued success As a freelance writer I have written for The Big Issue, Stylist Magazine, HuffPost UK, ByLine Times, The Yorkshire Evening Post.
