About Orest Holubec
As chief mission experience officer, Orest Holubec helps ensure Providence’s mission, values, Catholic identity and charisms of the founding congregations are tangibly understood and deeply felt by caregivers and integrated into culture, strategy and operations across the health system’s shared services. Orest is entrusted with ensuring the Mission is felt and lived in communities served by Providence by supporting local operations in community health needs assessments and aligning community investments to identified needs. He also works to bring our community benefit work to life by helping caregivers, community members and stakeholders appreciate and support the good work of Providence. Orest also serves as the health system’s liaison to Providence High School in Burbank, CA, founded by the Sisters of Providence in 1955. Holubec serves as chair-elect of the board of the Catholic Health Association of USA; board member of the Institute for Public Relations; and regent of Providence High School in Burbank, CA. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from John Carroll University and a Master’s in Catholic clinical ethics from Georgetown University. Previously, Holubec served as chief communication officer for Providence. Before that, he served as director of external communication for Catholic Health Partners, now Bon Secours Mercy Health, in Ohio. Prior to working in health care, Holubec was director of communication and press secretary to Ohio Governor Bob Taft, led communication strategy for statewide political campaigns, and held communication leadership roles for the Ohio Legislature and the Ohio Secretary of State’s office. Providence is a national, not-for-profit Catholic health system comprising a diverse family of organizations driven by a belief that health is a human right. With 51 hospitals, nearly clinics, and many other health and educational services, the health system and its partners employ caregivers serving more than five million patients in communities across seven Western states – Alaska, California, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas and Washington. Continuing an enduring commitment to world class care and serving all, especially those who are poor and vulnerable, Providence uses its scale to create health for a better world, one community at a time.
