ABOUT OREN SHERMAN

I design custom artwork for architecture, brands and manufacturers that is colorful, sophisticated, and contemporary. I have worked with a wide variety of clients including Steuben Glass, PepsiCo, the Disney Corporation, the Olympics, Visa, Hermès, Mobil Oil, and the U.S. Postal Service among others.I specialize in color strategy, 2D and 3D pattern design, wall graphics as storytelling for the brand, and custom carpets, partnered with my licensed manufacturers offering full production capability. My work lives at the intersection between visual storytelling, art and architecture, focusing on applying two-dimensional work in a three-dimensional way using the tools of color, storytelling and pattern to create engaging and experiential spaces.At Elkus Manfredi Architects, I crafted strategic narratives and original artworks for interior spaces, creating a multilevel, subliminal experience that resonates as a lyrical and unspoken message. Recently I made the leap to designing objects and collections in 3-D space.In 2022 I was awarded The Lifetime Achievement Award from Boston Design Week and in June 2022 gave my first TEDx presentation “Finding Creativity: A Solo Journey to a Connected Place.” An alumnus and Professor of Practice at Rhode Island School of Design, specializing in visual communication and entrepreneurship. I recently launching an innovative giving campaign kicked off by leaving my own digital IP to the institution, encouraging alumni at all educational institutions to consider their digital IP a gift for future generations.I have designed coordinated design collections for Brintons / Astek Inc / Mohawk - Durkan / Standard Textile / RJF Koroseal.
