Legs 152 and 162Collect and quality control multibeam side scan sonar and a subbottom profiler to portray the seafloor of the Pacific Ocean from Sidney, Canada to Honolulu, Hawaii. Used the following tools and software to succeed in these goals: Hypack navigation software assisting bridge with navigation. XBTs (expendable bathythermographs) to measure sound speed of the water using HydrOffice Sound Speed Manager (SSM). Knudsen SounderSuite sub-bottom profiler, record echogram, and peripheral input data, and review and print recorded data post-survey.Kongsberg Seafloor Information System (SIS) and Qimera to develop seafloor bathymetry.EM302 data processed through QPS Fledermaus for backscatter, water column data, data integration, visualization, and mapping products. Esri ArcGIS for data analysis, visualization, and generation of mapping products. Collect backscatter data to help set universal standards for mapping vessels.Used methods above as well as UCTD (Underway Conductivity Temperature and Depth sensor) to measure sound speed of the water.Communicate with watch leads and the bridge to assist with safety measures and data collection. Give presentations on live ship to shore interactions promoting Nautilus and ocean education. Assist with social media through takeover on @nautiluslive
