I am a member of the Department of Defense-funded Inclusive Cancer Care Research Equity (iCCaRE) for Black Men Consortium and lead several initiatives within the Consortium that include applying community-engagement research to:(1) identify barriers and facilitators affecting healthcare access in minorities and rural communities;(2) explore the impact of social determinants of health (e.g, socioeconomic status, literacy, immigration, nativity, social integration, community structure) on prevention, barriers to treatment, and health outcomes;(3) foster cancer workforce diversity in minority communities; and (4) enhance the participation of minoritized and marginalized populations in biomedical research and clinical trials.
