ABOUT OPEYEMI AJALA
As a student at Syracuse University majoring in marketing and exploring policy studies and political science I am deeply committed to exploring the intersections of business, politics, the global economy, and international relations while fostering meaningful change through community engagement. My academic pursuits, combined with a history of impactful leadership and service, underscore my dedication to becoming a global citizen who contributes to a more equitable world.Through my participation in initiatives such as the Sadie Nash Leadership Program and my role as President of Community Service, I have actively worked to uplift underrepresented voices and address pressing social issues. Whether organizing clothing and toy drives for families in Newark, NJ, or securing a $2,500 grant from the Prudential Center to support community programs, these experiences have taught me the power of collaboration and the importance of grassroots solutions to global challenges.At Syracuse University, my involvement in programs like \"Balancing the Books\" has allowed me to mentor middle and high school students, equipping them with critical financial literacy skills that prepare them for the complexities of the modern economy. As a Peer Leader in the First-Year Seminar, I have facilitated discussions on identity, inclusion, and interdependence, helping peers navigate the nuanced dynamics of our interconnected world. These roles have deepened my understanding of how local actions can resonate on a global scale.My curiosity about international relations and the global economy has inspired me to stay informed about current events and to critically analyze how political and economic decisions impact communities worldwide.
