ABOUT CRISTINA ONOSÉ

Cristina is a senior lead within PwC Canada\'s Cybersecurity and Privacy managed services practice, overseeing client engagements across several teams including Data Protection, Cyber Threat Intelligence, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC). She works with organizations to optimize their privacy and security programs, ensure compliance with applicable privacy and security requirements, and enhance consumer trust.Cristina is also an instructor for York University’s Information Privacy Program where she teaches the ‘Privacy in Technology’ course. She is a frequent speaker and author on privacy issues, including government regulations, strategic cyber threat intelligence, and the impact of emerging technologies on individual and collective rights. Throughout her career, Cristina has built a unique skill set across privacy, cybersecurity, marketing and government relations. Prior to joining PwC, Cristina was the Director of Government Relations and Privacy at the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA). She worked closely with over 400 corporate members and built strong relationships with regulators and Canadian and global privacy professionals. She has also served roles in the government of Ontario, an EU Parliament think tank in Belgium and a foreign diplomatic office. Cristina previously served as a board member to the Certification Training Advisory Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the Public Affairs Association of Canada (PAAC), the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (DAAC), and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in Canada (EUCCAN).Cristina holds an MA in International Relations from the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto and an executive certificate in Cybersecurity Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
