ABOUT ONDINE UPTON
I love helping people fulfil their potential, whether as a fundraiser, chief executive, student or in other life spheres. Using insights from positive psychology and coaching, I work closely with you to achieve your objectives. My work focusses mainly on charities (more below), and increasingly on coaching and tutoring in other spheres. I am fascinated by how we can create vibrant health throughout our lives, and especially once over 40. I coach and tutor a small number of children in Maths. My current Masters’ dissertation,\"From Maths Anxious to Maths Confident and Curious\", explores using Positive Psychology insights to strengthen coaching and tutoring students in years 4-8. My other passions are volunteering with children, especially primary school age, food in any form (yes, I love cooking and eating!), dance and theatre. My charity expertise is in board development and building the foundations for successful fundraising, especially from major donors. I ran the Action Planning workshops for many years, including Making the Ask, training individuals from charities as diverse as Future First, St Mungos, Paralympics GB, WWF, the National Trust and Oxfam. With a background in sales and marketing, I bring a strong strategic and commercial eye to the challenges of developing transformational relationships, combined with a pragmatic and inspiring can-do attitude. I was recruited by Impetus to work with the fast-growing charity Working Chance, launching their Giving Club in just six months, and by the Social Business Trust to work with Shakespeare Schools Festival. With an MA from Cambridge, I am talented at recruiting and motivating volunteers at all levels, from trustees and Patrons to Ambassadors and fundraising boards. I am particularly interested in social change and creating opportunities for young people. As a trustee of the grant-making Sir James Reckitt Charity, I bring insights from the donor perspective as well as the fundraising one.
