About Ona Omorogbe

Ona is a master’s prepared nurse with nearly two decades in the healthcare arena and over a decade and a half of experience as a Critical Care Registered Nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner. Her broad clinical experience spans: ER, CVICU, telehealth, eICU/virtual nursing, clinical leadership, simulation, home health, higher education, professional development, travel nursing, field clinical educator, Biotech/Medtech Clinical Implementation, primary care, and mental health. Her well rounded education allows her to excel across multiple industries. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in corporate communications with dual minors in Information technology and healthcare administration. As well as an Associates, Bachelor’s and Master’s of science in Nursing.Currently she is a Program Coordinator, and Assistant Professor, and played an integral role in developing and launching a Health Science Program. The program currently maintains annual 100% board pass rate and 100% job placement since its inception in 2021. She also owns and operates a training and consulting company. Her services include BLS-CPR and first aid certifications, professional development and wellness facilitation, and subject matter expertise. Ona delivers impactful presentations at conferences, health fairs, and corporate events, focusing on both clinical and professional development topics. As a media trained speaker, she has also been featured in various news outlets and corporate videos, sharing her expertise to inform and educate audiences ( see featured section).Ona was selected as one of Inside Business magazine’s Top 40 under 40 for 2024 and the Old Dominion University\'s (ODU) Alumni 40 under 40 class for 2023. Where she was appointed to the ODU Alumni Association Board of directors in 2024. Ona also empowers her colleagues as the inaugural Chair of Sentara’s Women’s Employee Resource Group, which grew to more than 900 members and generated over 4,500 employee engagements through programs under her leadership. In 2024 she was named one of the top 25 women ERG leaders in the nation by GirlsClub.com. Ona is a Sentara Aspire Leadership graduate 2023, Project Inclusion board governance Program Alumni Class 2024 and Vann Lefcoe Leadership development class of 2025. Dedicated to both nursing advancement and community service, Ona is the Public Relations officer for the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners (VCNP) Tidewater chapter. As well on the Safety committee for the Boys and Girls club. Overall Ona is committed to building and nurturing the healthcare profession and her community.
