About Om Sonawane

I am a second-year undergraduate at COEP Technological University, pursuing Manufacturing Science Engineering and Industrial Management, with a strong interest in integrating engineering fundamentals with management and operational thinking.Previously, I was a member of Team Octane Racing Electric, where I contributed to the design and manufacturing of a Formula Student electric race car. Working across cost, manufacturing, sustainability, and composites, I gained hands-on exposure to design for manufacturability, CAD (CATIA), process optimization, and sustainable engineering practices. Representing India at Formula Student Germany was a defining experience that provided international exposure and insight into competitive engineering innovation.Beyond technical learning, I am actively involved in leadership, operations, and event management initiatives at COEP, including Model United Nations, large-scale campus events, social service organizations, and student governance forums. These experiences have helped me develop skills in team coordination, operations planning, budgeting, stakeholder communication, and strategic execution.I have also completed certifications in leadership, negotiation, business analysis, and managing diverse teams from institutions including IIM Ahmedabad and the University of Michigan, strengthening my managerial foundation alongside my technical education.I am a curious and driven learner, keen on exploring opportunities at the intersection of manufacturing, operations, sustainability, and management, and always open to learning, collaboration, and meaningful conversations.
