ABOUT JOEL D. STEIN
Dr. Stein graduated from KCOM. He was an undergraduate fellow in the departments of Anatomy and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCOM). Dr. Stein is Board Certified in Family Practice, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and Sports Medicine. Dr. Stein is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Osteopathy (FAAO), a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine (FAOASM), and a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (FACOFP). He serves academically as a Clinical Associate Professor at NSU-COM, Professor Emeritus at University of Miami, School of Medicine, Visiting Clinician for the American Academy of Osteopathy and serves on the AAO Bureau of Experts. Dr. Stein is a board examiner for the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (AOBNMM), and Chair for the Conjoint Board in Sports Medicine. His current clinical position is Medical Director of the Institute for Non-Surgical Orthopedics in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He serves as Residency Director for FP/NMM, NMM+1, PM & R and Pain Medicine as well as Program Director for Sports Medicine at Larkin Hospital, S. Miami.Dr. Stein is an avid teacher and enjoys being on the lecture circuit as well as having clinical interests including Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Acupuncture, Interventional Pain Management and Manual Therapy. Dr. Stein has been in practice since 1984. His special interests are in “treatment of the moving parts of the body”. He has been trained by the Orthopedic Medicine Society, London, UK and holds full membership status as well as Fellow Eligibility. He has a twenty-five plus year history of teaching Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment.
