About Omid Karkouti
I am currently working on building a new research institute with a talented team of scientists and engineers.I previously founded two biotechnology companies, the latter of which is yielding promising results in several neurological disorders.I also serve as a scientific advisor to non-profit organizations focused on rare genetic disease research. Here I am especially proud of drug repurposing projects I\'ve worked on which have resulted in small-N clinical proof of concept studies in one autoinflammatory disease, four genetic epilepsies, and one neurodegenerative disease.
