About Omari Brown

Omari Brown is a comedy writer, actor, producer, editor that got his training from Chicago at The Second City and iO-Chicago but originally started in Richmond, VA. Currently one of the producers for the popular weekly segment \'Meanwhile\' on \'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert\'. Omari is a proud alum of The Late Show\'s diversity program where he became the first and only comedian to pitch/co-write a sketch to air, without being in the writing staff. The sketch is called,\'Black Future Month\' starring David Alan Grier. In 2021, Omari, along with \'The Late Show\' staff, received a Peabody Award for delivering fresh comedic shows throughout the peak of the 2020 pandemic and part of the Emmy award win for \'Best Outstanding Variety (Live)\'. Omari is also a proud active member of the Television Academy and Producers Guild of America. In 2023, Omari was selected for the \'Just For Laughs\' presents Stand-up & Pitch showcase in Montreal for creating and writing an original comedy pilot. Omari was given the platform to present his pilot to network comedy development executives. Paramount, Comedy Central, ABC, NBC, FOX, Hulu and Amazon Prime, to name a few.Starting 2025 on a high note, Omari performed in the \'Don\'t Tell Comedy\' comedy showcase as well as being selected again at ‘Just For Laughs’. This time it was for a completely different sitcom and program. Extremely blessed to have the opportunity to pitch and work with network and studio execs about his new sitcom. Fun fact, Omari was a technical director at \'One America News\'.
