ABOUT OMAR JABER

I am a junior at Southern Methodist University actively seeking a finance or legal internship where I can immediately contribute through leadership, initiative, and a strong understanding of operational and financial management. Currently, I serve as the Finance Chair for the SMU Student Senate, overseeing the allocation of a $1.2 million budget across 250+ student organizations. In this role, I authored and implemented the largest financial reform in Senate history, increasing transparency, efficiency, and flexibility in budget processes — skills that directly translate to dynamic business environments. Additionally, as Captain and Treasurer of the SMU Men’s Soccer Club, I lead a competitive team both on and off the field, managing finances and logistics while fostering a cohesive, high-performance culture. Academically, I am building expertise through courses such as Intermediate Accounting and Information Technology Operations Management, where I’ve developed strong technical and analytical skills, including budgeting, financial reporting, and operational process improvement. Outside the classroom, I compete in soccer at a high level, participate in Bible study leadership groups, and am passionate about exploring different cultures through travel experiences that sharpen my teamwork, discipline, and adaptability. I am ready to bring these skills into a business environment that values initiative, leadership, and a commitment to building strong internal communities that drive innovation and results.
