ABOUT OMAR ALKAWI

Experienced data scientist with five years of industry experience, with expertise in computer vision and natural language processing techniques. I have worked on various projects across different domains and industries, such as pharma and insurance.In my first two years in the industry, I focused on research in the pharma domain, working on NLP projects and developing web-based applications. This experience helped me establish a strong foundation in data science, and build my skills in data analysis, modeling, and programming.Over the past three years, I transitioned my focus to insurance automation, utilizing AI-driven techniques such as computer vision. I worked on a variety of projects that involved tasks like image classification, object detection, and prediction modeling. These projects allowed me to expand my skill set and gain practical experience with various tools and technologies in the field.Also, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in computer vision, where my research focuses on safe driving automation for terrains. This experience has allowed me to deepen my expertise in computer vision and gain valuable insights into the latest developments in deep learning.In terms of my skillset, I have expertise in deep learning with PyTorch, as well as experience working with AWS, SQL, and Python. Additionally, I am proficient in various packages such as NumPy and Scikit-learn, and am comfortable working with a range of data visualization and data analysis tools.
