ABOUT OM GOHEL
A passionate second-year Physics student with experience in leadership roles, I have developed excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills. My experience as a 2022 QMUL Physics representative, class representative and divisional captain has given me the ability to represent the views of others and make proactive decisions to improve the quality of the course. In addition, I have completed the Extended Project Qualification award, demonstrating attention to detail and excellent time management skills. My focus on the launch of a water rocket allowed me to conduct research, build and record multiple values using a variety of methods. This required me to use programs such as logger pro and use mathematical and simulated methods to simulate values and ensure the accuracy of my results. My coding skills have also improved through my Physics degree, scoring an average of 72.8% in all coding-related modules in the first year. I am currently learning to code in my spare time to further enhance my skills and help me in my second-year module ‘Introduction to Scientific Computing,’ where I have been uploading my projects to GitHub and transferring my knowledge of Python to other coding languages such as C/C++. My experience in part-time work at Screwfix and Tesco has allowed me to develop skills such as independence, managing high workloads in a fast-paced environment, and being a quick learner to deliver excellent customer service. As someone who enjoys playing sports and has a keen interest in new technology and innovation in engineering, robotics, machine learning, and F1. I am confident that I can bring a unique perspective and contribute to a diverse and dynamic workplace.
