ABOUT OLUWAFUNMILOLA ADEDARA

I always thought I would be a lawyer or at least end up doing something in the arts. I have since left that path to venture into accounting and finance but I believe some of my diverse experiences have pushed me and fueled my adaptability. I am currently an MBA (Finance) candidate and research assistant at the Maine Business School. I have over two years working in Finance, Accounting and Business Analysis in the following industries: health technology, financial services and oil and gas. My preferred areas of finance are financial reporting and analysis because I like putting the different parts of a company’s financial information together and breaking it down into simpler pieces for people who may not understand the jargon. The most enjoyable part of work and life in general to me is learning and sharing knowledge through various forms of collaboration. Previous experiences in my career so far have revealed the following to me: • I can communicate effectively with top management. • I have a thing against making errors but when I do I do my best to fix it. • I like analyzing financial information. • I like the concept of strategic planning because I like seeing plans executed. • I constantly put myself in a position where I am in charge of my own learning and development.
