Operational Experience I: Aviation Sector (2011–2023)With over 11 years of experience in the aviation sector, I provided accurate, timely, and high-quality meteorological services in line with ICAO Annex 3 and WMO standards. My role involved delivering pilot and crew briefings on hazardous weather conditions and preparing comprehensive flight folders containing critical data such as TAFs, METARs, SIGMETs, AIRMETs, wind-temperature charts, and satellite imagery. Additionally, I contributed to operational decision-making by forecasting convective and tropical weather systems, compiling aviation statistics, and participating in weather discussions, ensuring safe and efficient aircraft operations. Research Experience (2023–2025)Driven by a strong passion for weather forecasting, climate monitoring, and meteorological instrumentation, I pursued graduate research in geoscience with a concentration in meteorology. My work focused on analyzing historical precipitation and air temperature records from major in-situ observing networks using Python, ArcGIS, and advanced statistical modeling techniques. I quantitatively investigated differences across independently deployed weather networks, considering factors such as station spacing, siting standards, instrumentation, and quality control protocols. Additionally, I examined the influence of environmental variables including wind speed, solar radiation, and extreme weather events on the consistency and reliability of precipitation and air temperature observations across the US. Operational Experience II: Government/Public Sector (2025–Present)As an Associate Meteorologist with the County of San Diego, I lead operational weather support for emergency management, public safety, and infrastructure planning across a population of over 3.3 million residents. I prepare and disseminate weather briefings, conduct post-storm diagnostics, and manage seasonal preparedness assessments for the County’s ALERT flood warning network. My weather briefing directly reaches over 1,450 professionals across San Diego County (e.g, road crews, government officials, department heads, and first responders). I also lead network optimization projects, including rain gauge evaluation and relocation, improving data quality and enhancing early warning capabilities, while maintaining the integrity of long-term climatological records.Thank you!
