ABOUT OLLY SELF
10 years of experience working within Formula 1. I am currently part of the Alpine F1 hydraulics design team heading up the 2022 PAS re-design. Recent work has included, gearbox hydraulic manifold design, 2022 hydraulic system layout, numerous hydraulic components, brake system design, steering wheel design, ERS system components, DRS system as well as using simulation tools for analysis. I am able to work under the daily pressures and stresses of the F1 world both in the office and efficiently at home too; adapting my working style accordingly to meet the demands of the team and to strive for performance. Previous group involvement in the Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) group and Engine Systems group have given good knowledge of hybrid systems from a design to installation as well as in depth knowledge of fuel systems and composite design. I am always interested in broadening my horizons and learning more about engineering. I attack new tasks well and learn fast, adapting well to find solutions to design problems. I am fully able to work remotely and enjoy the added efficiency that this can bring in periods of focused design work.Other interests: classic and kit cars, Snowboarding, travelling and Property.
