ABOUT OLLIE LISS
I am an undergraduate student at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, double-majoring in Communication Arts and Sociology, with a strong interest in how media, rhetoric, and social research intersect to shape identity and community in everyday life. My current work in a Communication Arts research lab has provided hands-on experience in participant recruitment, data collection, and lab coordination, sharpening my research skills and organizational abilities in a collaborative setting.Beyond academics, I engage with the Madison community through my role at Madison School & Community Recreation, where I support youth programming and grow my leadership and communication skills in dynamic, community-focused environments. My experience extends across public service, athletics, recreation, and customer service, including with the Wausau Department of Public Works, Velveteen Plum, and various youth sports organizations. Each of these roles has taught me to adapt quickly, collaborate with diverse teams, and connect with people from different backgrounds.
