ABOUT OLLIE KNIGHT

For over a year I have worked at Hawkeye as the global Projects Forecasting Manager. More recently, working with finance, I am project managing an improvements project relating to all of our Asset\'s and the correct Management of them. Before joining Hawkeye, I had moved to the South East and spent over 2 years as a Cell Lead at AMETEK Airtechnology Group in Sunbury-On-Thames. My responsibilities were managing the Systems, Heaters and Switches manufacturing and assembly cells.Prior to this I was Business Improvement Manager in the Compressor Rotor Facility at Rolls-Royce (Annesley) This is after working for 4 years as a Production Leader in the Turbine Components business within Rolls-Royce Aerospace. Having started my Rolls-Royce career straight from university on the Operations Management Leadership graduate scheme in 2013, I have developed my management and leadership skills through a variety of previous roles. I graduated from Loughborough University with a 1st class honours degree in Industrial Design & Technology, a BUCS gold medal in 4x100m Relay and a graduate job with Rolls-Royce Plc.The Rolls-Royce graduate scheme was broken down in to x3 six month roles followed by a twelve month development production leader role. During the first 18 months I worked in Barnoldswick, Derby, Norway and Poland. The roles I had ranged from Manufacturing Engineer to Buyer in purchasing and a logistics role. I then spent 12 months in a development production leader role before taking my first post scheme role as full time production leader (PL).In my first PL job I was in charge of a team of 50 visual inspectors and process workers. This was in the IP Turbine Blade Facility. Then I moved plants and was in charge of around 75 operators making HP Turbine Blades for engines we supply to Airbus - Trent 700 & Trent XWB to name a few. I owned my own value stream which after receipting in HP castings my operatives would Makino Grind, EDM Diesink and then EDM air cooling holes into the blades before passing them onto the external coating process.
