I work at the intersection of data engineering & cloud architecture, helping teams design platforms that are scalable, resilient, secure and economically efficient.Over the years, I evolved from building data pipelines to defining how entire cloud & data platforms are structured, governed and operated - primarily on Google Cloud (GCP), with additional experience on AWS and Azure.Today, my work focuses on: • Making architectural decisions explicit before they become expensive or irreversible• Designing analytical data models (Kimball, Data Vault, hybrid approaches) that balance business semantics, scalability and long-term evolution• Designing modular Terraform & Terragrunt systems that enable reuse, ownership, and compliance• Establishing project-per-environment patterns that simplify IAM, auditing and cost control• Enabling data and application teams to ship independently without relying on fragile, redundant or unclear infrastructure• Implementing state-of-the-art ETL pipelines that are reliable, maintainable and scalable using strong DevOps and software development best practices.I believe great architecture is not about complexity or buzzwords but about clarity, trade-offs and long-term maintainability.I regularly speak at data and cloud events in Germany and enjoy discussing how platforms can scale without surprises.
