As a Mechanical Technical Lead, I am responsible for ensuring the technical quality of the team’s mechanical deliverables, guiding design and sizing decisions, and managing interfaces with other disciplines for a sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR, or RNR-Na in French).The objective is to leverage proven technologies from the French nuclear sector and introduce innovation only where necessary to meet today’s requirements and needs. This approach aims to deliver the product as quickly as possible and offer it to the French and potentially European markets, supporting the energy transition and ensuring long-term (spanning centuries) energy sovereignty. This strategy seeks to mitigate the growing uncertainties around uranium imports, which are less reliable than they were in the past century.
