ABOUT OLIVIA MAAMARI
First as head of the Research and Development Unit, and then as Head of the Environment Program at arcenciel’s association, and holding a PhD degree in Biochemistry, Olivia Maamari has been involved since 2008 in different projects and activities related to waste management such as the development of a National Network for Health Care Waste Management; the implementation of sustainable solid waste management systems and strategies in municipalities, refugee camps and companies; the promotion of new water technologies, and the realization of awareness campaigns. Between July 2016 and November 2018, she was Program Development Specialist at Caritas Lebanon, working on different topics such as disability, education, refugee response, health, and protection of migrants. Then, she occupied the position of Senior Researcher and Program Manager at the Centre for Lebanese Studies (CLS), in the field of disability and education. Starting June 2019, she was the Environmental & Social Manager for three wind farm projects at InfraTech. Since August 2021, she is an Environmental and Social Specialist at Proparco (Groupe Agence Française de Développement (AFD)). She is also a university lecturer in Waste Management; Environment Health; Environmental Engineering, and Urban Environment and Health.
