In my role as a paralegal on the Family Law team at Chestnut Cambronne, I work with our client\'s on their cases from start to finish. I facilitate intake calls from potential new clients, run conflict checks and conduct initial interviews. My work is primarily on cases involving dissolutions of marriage, child custody, paternity, adoption, harassment restraining orders, and orders for protection. A key role of mine is sorting and organizing client documents, both at initial client intake and throughout the discovery process. It is my job to upkeep client files on NetDocs, the software that Chestnut Cambronne utilizes. Throughout these cases, I manage the scheduling of mediations, court dates, and attorney meetings. I calendar all case deadlines and manage the completion of case work in alignment with these deadlines. Another key role in my position is drafting pleadings and other legal documents. I also conduct legal research and draft case memos for internal use. My drafting experience includes, but is not limited to, the following types of documentation: Petitions, Summons, Certificates of Representation, Confidential Information Forms, Financial Affidavits, Informal and Formal Discovery Requests and Responses, Letters to the Court and to Opposing Counsel/Party, Motions (ie. Modification of Child Support, Modification of Parenting Time, etc.), Client Affidavits, Affidavits of Attorneys Fees, Witness Lists, Exhibit Lists, Subpoenas, Proposed Orders and Notices of Filing. In addition to pleadings, I assemble exhibits for Affidavits and for trial. This involves bates-stamping, Odyssey e-filing, MNDES uploads and trial binder construction.Outside of my core paralegal role, I am a member of the internal Paralegal Committee. I also was a presenter for the CLE: Trial Preparation for Minnesota Legal Assistants in June 2024.
