ABOUT OLIVIA KRAMPEN

Experienced Family Nurse Practitioner with a demonstrated history of working in various healthcare settings such as urgent care, primary care, clinical research, medical weight loss and preventive medicine and academia. Strong nursing foundation developed from highly acute medical surgical inpatient nursing. Active AANP FNP board certification Active APRN licenses in CA, CT, DE, FL, MD, RIMy diverse clinical background led me to develop strong values of quality of care, improving access to care, providing individualized patient care and meeting patient “where they are.” I have great passion for health literacy and how it impacts health equity. I believe we need to better inform our patients and guide them through their health journeys rather than simply diagnosing and prescribing. I have high standards for myself as a person and as a provider and seek to be the best I can be at both. At the core, I love being a nurse practitioner and a faculty member for MSN and DNP students. I teach various courses and work diligently to prepare future NPs and DNPs to have an open mind and broad perspective on health and patient care. I infuse quality and safety, health literacy and the development of critical thinking in all courses I teach.Being a military spouse as a huge part of who I am and it is not something I hide from. I was an Army kid and now a Navy spouse, both of which I am very proud of. Even though we move every few years, there is a lot of good in this. I have had the opportunity to work for many different leaders on diverse teams, in various healthcare settings. I am an agile critical thinker who is successful in any role. I assimilate well into any team but am not afraid to speak up if I see necessary quality improvements that can be made.
