ABOUT OLIVIA SCHMIEDER
Hello LinkedIn, my name is Olivia Schmieder, and I am an aspiring Physician currently studying Honors Biological Sciences at Wayne State University, on the pre-med track. As a current junior and Undergraduate Researcher, I am looking to go to medical school in Fall of 2028. In my research, I study the host-pathogen interactions between HSV-1 and human cells. My main study currently is how HSV-1\'s viral protein ICP0 can tweak apart organizer proteins during early infection. Aside from my academic and research career, I have spent my time at Wayne State University serving my community. I currently serve as a Resident Advisor for Wayne State\'s Housing Department, Co-president for Green Warriors, Event Coordinator for Warm Hearted Warriors, and as a Recycling Ambassador for Green Living Science, an off campus non-profit organization.
