About Olivia Thomas

My name is Olivia, and I am a senior Honors student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I’mpursuing degrees in English (with a Creative Writing Concentration) and Philosophy. Additionally, I am completing a minor in Data Science. I am primarily interested in the intersection between nonfiction writing, ethics, and data collection, which I\'ve explored through my Honors Thesis in Creative Nonfiction Writing this past year.On campus, I work as a Writing Coach at the UNC Writing Center, where I help students refine and develop their skills as writers. I am also involved in the Parr Center for Ethics and Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity, which both allow me to develop my interests in community ethics and nonprofit work. My experiences with these organizations have contributed to my completion of over 600 community service hours, indicated by my involvement with the Buckley Public Service Scholars program.I plan to pursue a career in writing, publishing, or editing. I hope to connect with writing professionals, and I look forward to further exploring this field.
