ABOUT OLIVIA KESTER
I’m a driven and curious life sciences professional passionate about the intersection of research, innovation, and strategic impact. This fall, I’ll be starting my Master’s in Biotechnology at the University of Pennsylvania, where I plan to deepen my focus in areas like drug discovery, molecular diagnostics, and immunotherapy — with the goal of bridging scientific insight with real-world application. Previously, I conducted cancer metabolism research in the Blenis Lab at Weill Cornell Medicine, where I contributed to projects exploring propionate metabolism in prostate cancer and chromosomal instability in breast cancer. Working under the mentorship of Dr. John Blenis, Dr. Michal Nagiec, and Dr. Zhongchi Li, I learned the value of collaboration, precision, and adaptability in a fast-paced lab environment. Looking ahead, I’m excited to explore roles in project management, R&D strategy, and life science consulting, particularly within biotech and pharma companies. I’m especially drawn to early-stage product development, market strategy, and the challenge of translating complex science into actionable solutions. Always open to connecting with others in the biotech and healthcare innovation space!
