ABOUT OLIVIA DERUSSE

A Nebraska native who wears many hats. Business owner, fitness instructor, educator, coach, artist, and wife to name a few. I am a creative who loves to be involved in every step of the process. After studying business and HR management at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I moved to KC to be a Teach For America corps member. I spent 3 years at Operation Breakthrough teaching, collecting data, auditing their HR department, and growing their wellness program.(Remember how I love all the hats?) I currently work at TFA-KC as a coach for first and second year corps members who are doing critically important work for our Kansas City students. in 2021 I found a passion in entrepreneurship when I co-founded a local business, Queen Vibes KC (QVKC), a fitness initiative inspired by creating encouraging and authentic spaces for women of color to pursue wellness. We host events and group fitness classes designed to be a space where women can show up as their most authentic selves, learn which ways to move feel best, and grow community. I am excited to be a member of Pipeline Entrepreneurs Pathfinder Fellowship for the 2022 program year! Throughout owning a small business, I have honed and added skillsets such as web design, social media management, marketing, ideation, event planning and execution, managing interns, and finance and budget management.
